Membership Web Site Software - aMember Pro

Ever since I read Mike Filsaime’s Butterfly Marketing, I plan to use membership site software for all of my sites to integrate my subscription services, product download and affiliate management. However there are so many choices for membership site software and I really want the powerful and full-featured membership and subscription software for my website, so I began testing them.

I was recommended to use aMember Pro so I tested it.

Simple Installation and Free Installation

You can either did the installation yourself or you can opt for free installation. Yes, aMember offers free installation in 24 hours.

I did the installation myself and it was pretty straight forward:

I just needed to upload it to my web hosting and it self extracted automatically.
Then I just needed to follow its step-by-step guide,
Created table using cPanel,
Setup cron,
Done!

Membership Site Software aMember

Integrated with Many Payment Systems

I like this feature because having only PayPal as my payment system is very risky. Once my PayPal account was put under review so I couldn’t receive payment nor transferred my money there. It was frustrated to solve it with PayPal.

These are among the aMember supported payment systems: PayPal, WorldPay, ClickBank, 2Checkout, 1ShoppingCart, and many more.

Several of them also support recurring payment, which is great for membership subscription and recurring income! :)

Membership Protection

Here’s another feature that I like. aMember Pro has built-in password sharing prevention. It logs the IP used to login to aMember. If there are more than 5 different IPs login within 24 hours, the suspected member account is automatically suspended. Off course this setting can be changed according to my preference.

Integrated with Autoresponder System

It’s just too bad that aMember Pro doesn’t support integration with GetResponse.biz that I’ve been using. It works with Aweber, Autoresponder Pro, HiveMail, and some others though.

Forum Integration

I also like this feature. I plan to use it sometimes. Having forum can make my members more loyal and reduce my support desk’s load because they can interact some others and support themselves :)

vBulletin, phpBB and SMF are among the supported forums.

WordPress and Joomla Integration

I haven’t tested this feature so I can’t really tell how it works.

Image Gallery Integration

aMember Pro supports Coppermine, 4Images, and PhotoPost so that you can show off your photos! It’s just too bad Gallery is not supported.

Affiliate Management

aMember Pro has built-in 1-tier affiliate program with recurring commissions support. I can upload banners and other promotional items for my affiliate.

Unfortunately it uses flat commission rate for all of affiliates so I can’t set special commission rate for JV partners and super affiliates.

Overall aMember Pro is a powerful and full-featured membership and subscription software. It’s great if I’m not picky with its limited affiliate management and I use GetResponse with it.

Qassia - A New Breed of Squidoo and Yahoo Answers?

Here comes Qassia. It’s modeled similar like Naver, a number one and busiest site in South Korea. Here, it reminds me to Squidoo and Yahoo Answers.

Qassia

Its idea is simple: share your tidbit of knowledge with others. But Qassia takes it to another step:

You’re allowed to add your sites.
You’re encouraged to share your knowledge with others by writing articles (Qassia calls it intel).
You get revenue sharing from AdSense that’s published in your intel page.
You get Qassia credit for writing intel or rating other intels.
You can exchange this Qassia credit to display your sites.

Will Qassia take off and be succesful like Naver in South Korea or it’s a blunder like Agloco? Time will tell.

Qassia is currently closed to public. You can only join Qassia through this link and it’s free to join.

When you join Qassia, make sure to change the AdSense ID into yours.

Qassia

I’m curious, what do you think of Qassia?

You Should Make Money Online Outside of the MMO (Make Money Online) Niche

If you are reading this then I am going to assume you are interested in making money online. Either you already make money online and are trying to find ways to increase your income, or you are struggling to get started making money online. It doesn’t matter which of those categories you fall into because this post is for both!

There is one near fatal mistake that most of us make when we try to make money online. What is that mistake? It’s trying to make money online in the make money online niche! You are almost certainly setting yourself up for failure by trying to do this.

Why?

Well, first of all, it’s one of the most competitive niches on the internet and it’s very hard to compete with the people who have already established themselves at the top. You are fighting one heck of an uphill battle trying to beat them out.

Second, those in the niche already know all the marketing tricks and strategies internet marketers use to make money online. Therefore, it is damn hard to get them to purchase your products. And getting anyone in this niche to click on an Adsense ad or any other advertisement is almost impossible.

Finally, the profit margin in the make money online niche tends to be quite low compared to many other niches. Your target market is mostly broke and looking for ways to make money themselves, so they don’t have much extra to spend. It’s hard to make money when your market doesn’t have any to give you.

So, what can you do to make money online? It’s a simple answer…

Build your online business in niches outside of the MMO niche!

There are virtually endless niches that you can tap into and make money online. A significant portion of these do not have all the barriers and downfalls that the MMO niche has.

All it takes is a little research to find a profitable niche. You are mainly looking for quite a bit of demand with not a lot of competition. You also want to make sure it’s a market that has money to spend and are willing to spend it. Then, build upon it just as you would if you were trying to tap into the make money online nice. Except this will be much easier!

There are people you will never hear of who are making tons more money online than any of the internet marketing gurus you hear about everyday. And they are doing it in these smaller niches that you and I have probably never even thought about.

So take some time to find a few smaller profitable niches and you will be making money online outside of the MMO niche in no time.

Dedicated to your success,

Changes To The Google Adsense Referral System

Guest Post by Matthew Tutt

Although this was announced on the 8th of January 2008, some people may not have been aware of the changes that will soon be implemented by Google regarding the Adsense referral system (I had only noticed an e-mail from Google the other day mentioning their changes), and some of you may not have realised how/why Google is changing the system.

Basically, Google have decided that the Adsense referral system isn’t working well enough for them (not making them enough money, no doubt). Therefore, they have decided to scrap the referral system for those of you who are based outside of Latin America, North America, and Japan. This hardly seems fair that someone should be favoured based on their geographical position, but that’s the stance that Google has taken.

If you do live in Latin America, North America or Japan, then congratulations. However, there is still some bad news for you. Google will be reducing the payment structure to that of previous years. You will now only be earning $100 when your referrals earn $100. Obviously this is quite a drop from the previous system, but at least you can still earn from the referral system. A lot of people will be forced to remove their Adsense referral units from their websites and will probably end up resorting to promoting other advertising programs, too.

Obviously, this won’t affect everyone. Not all people will have Adsense referral units on their websites, but I’m pretty sure that those of you who do will be pretty annoyed with Google. As of yet there seems to be no real alternative, so it seems that some webmasters will simply have to suffer a drop in revenue from their website. However, it appears likely that the main blogs and sites that will be affected are those who discuss ways to make money online, just like the Can I Make Big Money Online blog does.
