This is the follow-up post for my making money in long term case study. In that post I said that I will be following up on this post once or twice a month. So here is the first follow-up post.
After my first post (when the case study on this chemotherapy site started), I added some content. Now the website has around 30 pages of content. I have just submitted to 2 good directories today in their health section. I have still to see the backlinks. So till now, the only backlinks were from this case study only (is that the strategy too?
).
So as of today here are the stats:
URL: Chemotherapy
Earning Goal: Making $1000/month after one year.
Time elapsed from the case study start: 28 days
Money invested till now: $94.00 (older) + $39.98 (directory submissions) = $133.98
Total uniques in March: 846 ( out of which 44 from search engines)
Total uniques in April (till 6th): 156 ( out of which 34 from search engines
Total money earned: $0.00 (not yet monetized)
So, as you can see that I have added some content (around 30 articles in total) based on chemotherapy and chemotherapy related keywords. These articles on chemotherapy were written by somebody in my team (consider myself), so I have not included the cost of it into the expenses.
So what next?
In the next 30 days, when I will see that I am getting around 1500 uniques for the month, I will add around 30 more pages and around 10 to 15 more back-links. When I will reach the level of 150 page views per day, I will start monetizing the website (through adsense first). Only after putting the ads on, I will start doing article based bum marketing for chemotherapy and health related keywords. I will do 10 articles to start with.
So thats the plan. Subscribe to my RSS feed (if you have not done so already) and stay updated on the developments.
This website is using the wordpress blog but is made to not-look-like a blog. The chemotherapy articles section is actually the little modified version of the a site-map plugin. I have also added a disclaimer at the bottom of the homepage that this is site provides general information about chemotherapy and should not be taken as a medical or health advice.
