Today, we are pleased to announce general availability of the product — no invitation required! Thousands of publishers in hundreds of countries already serve billions of impressions each day with Ad Manager, and we’ve <a href="https://www.google.com/admanager/login/en_US/success.html?utm_source=adsense_blog_us&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=openlaunchsuccess"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/https://www.google.com/admanager/login/en_US/success.html?utm_source=adsense_blog_us&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=openlaunchsuccess');">heard from them that Ad Manager has helped increase revenue, cut serving costs, and save time managing campaigns. Now we’re excited to bring those benefits to all publishers. If you have an AdSense account, you can <a href="http://www.google.com/admanager?utm_source=adsense_blog_us&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=openlaunch"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.google.com/admanager?utm_source=adsense_blog_us&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=openlaunch');">sign in to Ad Manager today. A Google AdSense account is a technical requirement for creating an Ad Manager account.Ad Manager can help you sell, schedule, deliver, and measure both directly-sold and network-based inventory. It offers an intuitive and simple user interface, Google serving speed and reliability, and significant cost savings. Best of all, Ad Manager can be optionally integrated with Google AdSense to offer you an automated way to maximize the revenue of your unsold and network-managed inventory. We’ve been busy since March; in addition to supporting thousands of new publishers on Ad Manager, we’ve been adding new features including:Interface available in 32 languages: Do you prefer to work in Turkish or Vietnamese or Hungarian? Now you can! Ad Manager supports international currencies, too.Ad network management: Easily manage your third-party ad networks in Ad Manager to automatically maximize your network driven revenue. Automatic macro insertion: Save time and avoid tagging errors since Ad Manager now automatically detects and inserts macros from most popular 3rd party vendors. Creative preview on live site: Preview the look and feel of ads on your live site to ensure ads look as expected before you start the campaign.Day and Time Targeting: Don’t want your orders to run on weekends? No problem. With day and time targeting, you can set any new line items you create to run only during specific hours or days, or as little as 15 minutes per week. Use day and time targeting in addition to geography, bandwidth, browser, user language, operating system, domain and custom targeting. We also continue to roll out new features for the <a href="http://www.doubleclick.com/revenuecenter?utm_source=gam_post&utm_medium=blog&utm_content=revenue_center&utm_campaign=gam_post"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.doubleclick.com/revenuecenter?utm_source=gam_post&utm_medium=blog&utm_content=revenue_center&utm_campaign=gam_post');">DoubleClick Revenue Center suite of publisher solutions, including <a href="http://www.doubleclick.com/dfp?utm_source=gam_blog&utm_medium=blog&utm_content=dfp&utm_campaign=gam_blog"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.doubleclick.com/dfp?utm_source=gam_blog&utm_medium=blog&utm_content=dfp&utm_campaign=gam_blog');">DART for Publishers (DFP), our ad serving platform for publishers with larger direct sales teams. Even if your sites relate to completely different topics, our system will display appropriate ads for each site. This is because your ad targeting is based on the content of your pages, rather than set within your account. In addition, please keep in mind that publishers may only maintain one account per payee name, so there’s no need for you to submit a new application. If you run multiple websites, you may wish to view separate reports for each domain. Simply create a <a href="https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=13993&sourceid=aso&subid=ww-en-et-asblog_2008-08-22&medium=link"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=13993&sourceid=aso&subid=ww-en-et-asblog_2008-08-22&medium=link');">URL channel for each one. You won’t need to modify your code in any way, and your URL channels will begin tracking data almost immediately. If you need to send these reports to other people who manage your site with you, you can set up <a href="https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=27197&sourceid=aso&subid=ww-en-et-asblog_2008-08-22&medium=link"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=27197&sourceid=aso&subid=ww-en-et-asblog_2008-08-22&medium=link');">emailable reports. But what if you’ve sold the website you applied to AdSense, and now you run another one? We don’t need to update your account information in any way. Just remove your ad code from the old site, paste new code onto your current site, and our system will automatically take care of the rest. Finally, we’d like to note that we do constantly review sites displaying Google ads to make sure that they’re complying with the AdSense program policies. If we find that a site isn’t compliant with our policies, we’ll contact the publisher whose ad code appears on the site to address the situation.

I’ve been asked many times, how to make money online without having any website, any product, nor any list… or in short how to make money online from scratch. Just answer questions and then get paid.

Although this is not my favorite method on making money online, it might be good for you if you like answering questions. Rather than answering questions at Yahoo! Answers, Yedda, or AskVille where you don’t get paid, answer questions at these following sites (they’re free to join by the way):

<a href="http://aldianprakoso.com/reviews/JustAnswer"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://aldianprakoso.com/reviews/JustAnswer');">Just Answer

This is probably the answer site that paid you the most for answering questions and you get paid through <a href="http://aldianprakoso.com/PayPal"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://aldianprakoso.com/PayPal');">PayPal.

So here’s how Just Answer works:

You need to apply to become an expert before you can start answering questions and get paid.
Warning, only about 10% of the applicants is accepted. So be prepared.
Fill out your profile and be careful since your profile will pretty much determine how much you will make.
Find questions in your field of expertise and answer it. Once you answer a question the person who posted the question will have to decide if they want to pay for your answer for their offering price or if they would rather pass on it (you see that your profile is very important decision factor here).
You can request payment any time once your balance reaches $20.

Basically there’s no limit of how much a question can be paid. So it’s not uncommon to find $50 question offerings, while the average question offering is $15 each. You get 25% to 50% of this offering, depending on your performance.

Just in case you’re curious, I quote a few questions directly from the sites:

$80 Question:

Write a 1,750 word paper examining the impact of Poverty and Children in the United States. Cite 3 to 5 sources.

Optional Information: Level: 2nd year college

Already Tried: SOC 102 TEXTBOOK, U.S. CENSUS WEBSITES AND OTHERS.

Obviously you get paid much more than ghostwriting for answering this question

$50 Question:

I was recently arrested by the RCMP and held for two days with a charge of BNE but ultimately the Crown decided not to proceed with the charges and I was released. However, when I was arrested I was driving my car which they had towed to their building and they have yet to give it back to me or let me remove any of my belongings from it. How long are they legally allowed to hold my vehicle for? Also, I had just purchased this vehicle and had yet to officially transfer my insurance (still valid) over to my new vehicle although I had all of the proper documents. I thought ICBC allowed 10 days after purchasing a vehicle to transfer the insurance. Is this true?? Because I was issued a $598 ticket for driving with no insurance. (I know this is kind of a complicated question and I will pay more for an answer)

$30 Question:

I am looking for “how to” instructions for mounting and unmounting the mowing deck of a 345 John Deere Lawn Tractor.

$15 Question:

I have recently been tested for stds but camp up negative. I have been cramping and bleeding between my last period. just started on thursday with light brown discharge that continued for
about 24 hours then went to watery red very little discharge and cramping from thursday. my last period was around the first of the month and lasted about 5 days. I have no odor, no pain with intercourse. i have always used condoms also EVERYTIME. the cramping and spotting usually occurs in the morning and lessens later on in the day.

As you can see from these samples above, the topic and offering of the questions vary. So if you have the expertise and like answering questions, this may be for you!

<a href="http://aldianprakoso.com/reviews/JustAnswer"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://aldianprakoso.com/reviews/JustAnswer');">Click here to apply to become an expert at Just Answer and get paid answering question.

<a href="http://www.expertbee.com/"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.expertbee.com/');">ExpertBee

ExpertBee is kind of like auction place for answering questions and giving services. You bid a price at which you would answer the question or perform the service. The inquirers (the people who ask the questions or request the service) then choose the bidder. Hence it’s very important to have a credible profile, reasonable price, and good feedbacks.

You get paid $0.60 + 20% of the fee for answering questions, or a one-time fee of $7.95 for providing service.

<a href="http://www.expertbee.com/"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.expertbee.com/');">Click here to join ExpertBee.

<a href="http://chacha.com/"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://chacha.com/');">ChaCha

ChaCha is free mobile answer site that answers questions directly to the mobile phone of the person asking the question. People can ask questions by sending text message or calling a 1-800 number.

You need to become an independent contractor (called guide in ChaCha) before you can answer questions and get paid. SMS (text message) guides are paid $.10 - $20 per transaction, and you get paid via debit card or direct deposit once your balance reaches $100.

The requirement to become a guide is fairly simple:

You must be 18+ years old.
You must have a US mailing address.
You must be authorized to work in the US.
You must have a broadband Internet connection.

<a href="http://chacha.com"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://chacha.com');">Click here to get paid answering questions at ChaCha.

<a href="http://www.knowbrainers.com/"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.knowbrainers.com/');">KnowBrainers

It might be a while before you can make money at KnowBrainers. To become an approved expert and qualify to receive payments, you become an active member of the community by asking and answering the free questions. Once you do so, you need to send an email to experts at KnowBrainers to express interest in the approved expert program.

The questions asked in KnowBrainers include topics of entertainment, history, science, pet care, parenting, automotive, home contracting, computer help, health, and law.

<a href="http://www.knowbrainers.com"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.knowbrainers.com');">Click here to join KnowBrainers.

<a href="http://www.iwantyouranswers.com"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.iwantyouranswers.com');">I Want Your Answers

Actually you don’t really get paid to answer questions here. But rather you get a share of the revenue from the AdSense that displayed on your answer page (they display AdSense ads with your AdSense publisher ID half the time). So you need to have a Google AdSense account (and existing website) to make money using I Want Your Answers.

<a href="http://aldianprakoso.com/recommends/AdSense.php"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://aldianprakoso.com/recommends/AdSense.php');">Click here to sign-up for AdSense and <a href="http://www.iwantyouranswers.com"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.iwantyouranswers.com');">click here to join I Want Your Answers.

Hence from all of these answer sites, <a href="http://aldianprakoso.com/reviews/JustAnswer"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://aldianprakoso.com/reviews/JustAnswer');">Just Answer is the best deal where you can get paid the most for answering questions.

Please share this post and write your comments. You can also help others by listing other paid answer sites

People use bum marketing (or article marketing) for various reasons. Some of them use it to bring traffic to their website, which they monetize through adsense. Some of them use it to drive traffic to the site which they plan to sell soon (flipping websites). Some use it to advertise products from clickbank or from other affiliate networks.

I have tried bum marketing in various niche markets like gizmos, electronics, apparels, ebooks, softwares, medical products, and many others as well.

But bum marketing has worked best for me on the medical products. Specially those medical products, about which, people don’t prefer to discuss with their family/friends. For these type of products, they do their research online. Bum marketing at ezinearticles.com or other similar places are good places to present the product reviews for people to tell them which product actually works and which does not. If you are actually helping them in decision making, you will also make the money.

I have used article marketing for <a href="http://affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp/associates/join"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp/associates/join');">Amazon, <a href="https://www.ebaypartnernetwork.com"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/https://www.ebaypartnernetwork.com');">eBay (through <a href="http://www.jimkarter.com/go/bans.php"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.jimkarter.com/go/bans.php');">BANS), <a href="http://www.jimkarter.com/go/clickbank.php"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.jimkarter.com/go/clickbank.php');">Clickbank, <a href="http://www.jimkarter.com/go/lecash.php"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.jimkarter.com/go/lecash.php');">LECash and <a href="http://www.jimkarter.com/go/clickbank.php"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.jimkarter.com/go/clickbank.php');">MarketHealth. Out of these last two worked the best.

I use a combination of squidoo lenses, hub pages, knol (recently added) and article directories to promote the product. I submit my articles to only 5 directories which I consider the best. Its just a do-it-and-forget-it process.

Have any of you use bum marketing for some specific product? How is it going? Please share.

Back in the early days of the Internet, you could just throw up a CPM banner and work on increasing the number of impressions. Google AdSense came along and forced publishers to put a little more focus on increasing the click-thru rate. With the arrival of affiliate marketing, the focus is taken even further. You not only need your visitors to notice and click on the ads, you need them to complete a certain action.

As its name implies, <a href="https://t3leads.com/reg?referal=michaelkwan"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/https://t3leads.com/reg?referal=michaelkwan');">T3leads.com is one such pay-per-lead affiliate program. In its own words, T3leads.com sells “generated leads through a unique auction system that allows our affiliates to make maximum profits.” I like money.

Why Work with T3leads.com?

On the surface, it was hard to find anything that really set this <a href="https://t3leads.com/reg?referal=michaelkwan"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/https://t3leads.com/reg?referal=michaelkwan');">affiliate program apart from the rest of the crowd. On the main page, T3leads.com boasts that it has the highest per lead payouts in the industry, highest traffic conversion rates, real-time reporting, and quick bi-weekly payouts.

I’ll discuss the high payouts and the conversion rates in a moment, but the one major thing that I appreciate about T3leads.com is the the bi-weekly payout schedule. This means that you don’t have to too long to get your money from <a href="https://t3leads.com/reg?referal=michaelkwan"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/https://t3leads.com/reg?referal=michaelkwan');">T3leads.com. Contrast this to other networks that only pay out once every 30, 45, or 60 days. It’s also useful that T3leads.com offers a wide variety of payment options, as shown above.

Control Panel and Creatives

Logging into the control panel, you are immediately faced with news from the network, both in Russian and in English. Despite its Russian slant, T3leads.com says that it only accepts American traffic. That can be a little confining, given the international nature of the Internet.

You are able to navigate through the different sections by way of the menu bar at the top of the screen. The websites tab displays the sites that are currently advertising through <a href="https://t3leads.com/reg?referal=michaelkwan"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/https://t3leads.com/reg?referal=michaelkwan');">T3leads.com, broken down based on category. Common categories include home insurance, debt relief, and payday loans.

Other useful areas in the control panel include the T3forum (accessed under Info), Promo (for banners), and Statistics. There are four different kinds of reports available.

Advertiser and Payout Information

Unlike other affiliate programs, T3 does not appear to make any specific mention about how many each advertiser pays when you send a qualified lead their way. A lead is considered generated when a site visitor fills out an “express application” form. This typically consists of a first and last name, email address, state, and zip code.

Going through the different websites and ad creatives, you won’t find any numbers regarding how much each lead is worth. How am I supposed to know that T3leads.com is offering the <a href="https://t3leads.com/reg?referal=michaelkwan"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/https://t3leads.com/reg?referal=michaelkwan');">best payouts in the industry? That’s a claim that every affiliate network makes and it’s starting to get awfully cliche. That said, there is one sentence on the main page that says we can earn “from $5 up to $150 per lead.”

Digging a little deeper, I found that the payout is <a href="http://forum.t3leads.com/index.php?showtopic=5"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://forum.t3leads.com/index.php?showtopic=5');">based on a number of factors: “Age of the customer, his state, credit score, etc.” Advertisers must bid for the lead, and that’s where the “auction” part of the equation comes into play. Going through the <a href="https://t3leads.com/faqs.html"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/https://t3leads.com/faqs.html');">FAQ, I wasn’t able to find any specific information about the T3leads.com referral program. Is it a flat payout for referring a new publisher? A percentage of their earned commissions? Just a pat on the back?

Signing Up with T3leads.com

From a logistics point of view, I don’t have too many complaints about <a href="https://t3leads.com/reg?referal=michaelkwan"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/https://t3leads.com/reg?referal=michaelkwan');">T3leads.com. It looks like nearly any other affiliate network and you have a good selection of payment options, each with a different minimum threshold. All of these come with bi-weekly payouts, assuming you meet the threshold.

Where I do have complaints about T3leads.com is in its transparency. I have no idea how much each lead is generating and there is virtually no information about the individual advertisers. I need to know whether advertiser X is potentially more lucrative than advertiser Y. There is quite a bit of difference between promoting something that pays a $0.01/lead and something that pays $150/lead. What about incentivization? T3leads.com needs to provide publishers with this kind of information.

<a href="https://t3leads.com/reg?referal=michaelkwan"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/https://t3leads.com/reg?referal=michaelkwan');">CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP WITH T3LEADS.COM

If you tried to setup a new Google ad in your AdSense control panel today, you may have a noticed a new feature call AdSense for Feeds. It seems Google is finally starting to capitalize on its purchase of FeedBurner.

AdSense for Feeds allows Google to send AdSense ads into your RSS feed, provided your RSS feed is powered by FeedBurner. FeedBurner has its own ad network call FeedBurner Ad Network (FAN) but it sucks. I have over 28,000 RSS readers and the FAN ads make less than $5 per month. With that kind of dismal results, it’s no wonder Google killed it. Hopefully, AdSense in the RSS will perform a lot better than FAN ads.

Migrating FeedBurner to Google

To turn on AdSense for RSS, you need to migrate your FeedBurner account into your Google Account. To migrate all of your feeds, and your account from feeds.feedburner.com to Google, email adsense-support-aff@google.com and provide the following information:

Your FeedBurner account username
The Google Account email address you use to sign in to AdSense

Google will migrate your account and contact you with specific steps for you to follow once migration is complete.

Setting Up AdSense for Feeds

Setting up AdSense for Feeds is pretty straight forward. Google offers a lot of options to customize the look and feel of the ads. Ad sizes are 468×60 or 300×250 and is selected automatically by the system. You can choose if you want image ads, text or both, ad frequency, position, post length, colors and a channel to track performance. There’s even an option to make your feed a targetable placement so advertisers can buy ads directly on the feed.

I see this as a logical progressive step for Google. They’ve already taken over advertising on websites. It’s time to take over advertising on RSS as well. Look for Google ads in your mobile phone next. Oh wait. They’ve started that already. I just noticed the “AdSense for Mobile Content” in my AdSense control panel.

This post was <a href="http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/08/15/google-turns-on-adsense-for-feeds/"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/08/15/google-turns-on-adsense-for-feeds/');">originally posted at Techcrunch and has been reposted because I thought shoemoney readers would find it interesting

After more than <a href="http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/05/30/feedburner-finally-rolls-out-adsense/"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/05/30/feedburner-finally-rolls-out-adsense/');">two months of testing, Google has finally turned on AdSense for Feeds. Formerly, these were FeedBurner ads. The acquired company has moved its advertising program over to Google’s system, and now any AdSense advertiser can tap into the Feedburner network.

The ads are contextual and come in different sizes and formats. Google Operating System, which noticed that the service is now turned on, <a href="http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2008/08/google-tests-adsense-for-feeds.html"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2008/08/google-tests-adsense-for-feeds.html');">reports:

The new AdSense for Feeds option lets you create a new ad unit that has a format automatically selected from 468×60 and 300×250. . . . You can choose if you want image ads, the ad frequency, the position (top or bottom of the post), the colors and a channel that tracks the ad performance.

Hopefully, this will turbocharge ads in feeds, which have not been a stellar performer so far. Does anybody click on those ads? Maybe they should be seen more as branding opportunity, because you certainly see them when you are scrolling through your blog and news feeds.

When you visit the AdSense Setup tab in your account, you’ll notice a new “AdSense for feeds” option. This means you can now use AdSense to place ads in your RSS feeds, allowing you to increase the reach of your content while earning revenue. Our salesforce will sell cost-per-impression (CPM) ads directly to the largest advertisers, while the rest of your inventory will be filled with contextually targeted cost-per-click (CPC) and CPM ads. This means that more of your feed items will be sold and with higher overall revenue, than with any other feed network. At this point, you may either be thinking, “great!” or “umm…what’s a feed?” For those of you in the second category, feeds allow your content to be delivered and subscribed to on the Web, often as headlines, summaries or articles. FeedBurner also has a <a href="http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/feed101;jsessionid=01563D5FFE69D3CD555134F7280"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/feed101;jsessionid=01563D5FFE69D3CD555134F7280');">nifty tutorial that you might find useful. And here are a few more reasons to try AdSense for feeds:Receive higher CPMs and maintain a positive user experience by displaying ads specifically optimized for RSS feeds. View detailed stats on your feed audience, distribution, and more through FeedBurner when you set up your feeds with AdSense.Manage monetization for your feeds through the same account that you use to manage other AdSense properties.AdSense for feeds is currently enabled in all <a href="http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=9727"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=9727');">languages supported by AdSense for content.Want to learn more about what feeds are and how to get started with AdSense for feeds? As we’ve mentioned before, we monitor all clicks and impressions on Google ads for any activity that may artificially drive up an advertiser’s costs or a publisher’s earnings.

First of all, sorry guys for not making any post for such a long time. I was really busy with setting up a new venture in Delhi. It seems the idea of the guest posts on my blog didn’t work that well (who told me there is something called free lunch? ) Got lots of thrashing from my readers. But I really took that as a learning and will remember in future. Now that said, lets go to the case study.

As most of you know that I started a long term <a href="http://www.jimkarter.com/2008-03-10-case-study-making-money-long-term.html"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.jimkarter.com/2008-03-10-case-study-making-money-long-term.html');">case study on my chemotherapy website around four and half months back. I decided to follow it up every month, and have posted the previous follow-up <a href="http://www.jimkarter.com/2008-04-07-case-study-chemotherapy-site-follow-up-1.html"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.jimkarter.com/2008-04-07-case-study-chemotherapy-site-follow-up-1.html');">here, <a href="http://www.jimkarter.com/2008-05-31-case-study-chemotherapy-site-follow-up-2.html"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.jimkarter.com/2008-05-31-case-study-chemotherapy-site-follow-up-2.html');">here and <a href="http://www.jimkarter.com/2008-07-07-case-study-chemotherapy-site-follow-up-3.html"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.jimkarter.com/2008-07-07-case-study-chemotherapy-site-follow-up-3.html');">here.

This is the 4th follow up for the case study. Here are the current stats on how the site did in July 2008.

Long Term Goal: Making $1000/month after one year
Site in Case: <a href="http://www.echemotherapy.com"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.echemotherapy.com');">Chemotherapy
Total time till end of July: Around 4 and half months
Money invested till now: $193.98 (till last update only, no new investment)
Total Unique in last month (July): 2296 (1788 last month)
Total page views in month (July): 7603 (6388 last month)
Number of pages listed by Google: 59 (it was 39 for last month)
Revenue in July: Total: $62.61. Out of it, $47.28 is from Adsense and $15.33 from Kontera. (Total of $46.58 for last month)
Total budget available as of now: $382.96 (last month) - $0.00 (used this month) + $62.61 (earned this month) = $445.57

<a href="http://www.echemotherapy.com"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/http://www.echemotherapy.com');">

In my previous posts I said that I would do some link building, bum marketing and some more content. But I could not do any of it because I was busy with other stuff. But even without it, it seems it did well on track. Its around 35% increment in earnings. I needed around 50% increase in earnings per month to reach my target of $1000/month at the end of 12th month.

This month I will be actively working on the site to bring it back on track.

Firefox has taken a waaaaaaaaaay more intrusive approach to this and now displays a server error like page for misconfiguration servers/certs.

I had quickmarked my AdSense account url as https://google.com/adsense and when I just went there I saw this:

Then I retried it a few seconds later and it was ok. Not sure if it was a FireFox error or something on Googles side but 1 thing is for sure that new Firefox error page is no joke and will cost people business if they see it.

These include extraneous clicks without any value to the advertiser, such as the second click of a double-click. They also include many other types of clicks that we’ve determined aren’t motivated by genuine user interest.”Invalid clicks” are often confused with “clicking on your own ads”. However, we’d like to stress that invalid clicks are generally any clicks that artificially inflate advertiser cost or publisher revenue, regardless of their source.Click fraud is a subset of invalid clicks that are generated with malicious or fraudulent intent — in other words, clicks that are intended to drive up advertiser cost or publisher revenue artificially. Sources for these clicks include, but are not limited to: A publisher clicking on his own ads, or encouraging clicks on his ads Users or family members clicking to support the site / publisher Third-party programs with user incentives, such as paid-to-click services and click-exchanges Automated clicking tools, robots, or other deceptive software The same principles above apply to ad impressions and conversions as well. Some sources of invalid impressions include, but are not limited to: Excessive page refreshes, generated either manually or automatically Third-party programs with user incentives, such as paid-to-surf or auto-surf programs Third-party programs for purchasing fixed amounts of traffic, e.g. “$10 for 1,000 page views” As a reminder, any method that artificially generates clicks, impressions, or conversions is strictly prohibited by our <a href="https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=48182&sourceid=aso&subid=ww-en-et-asblog_2008-08-08&medium=link"rel="nofollow" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackVisit('/outbound/article/https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=48182&sourceid=aso&subid=ww-en-et-asblog_2008-08-08&medium=link');">program policies.
